New years party

Since I was going out of town for New Years, I decided to have a few of my friends over for a pre-New Years party. Things got pretty crazy…but we definitely had a good time. Here are some photos of the party.

I invited over Kofi, Hugo, Evo and Fidel. The party started out a little slow, but then Kofi put on the Reggeton and everyone started dancing.

It was so hard to get everyone to chill out for a minute so I could take a photo. Don't worry, Fidel isn't sick he's just a little borracho.

Evo was supposed to bring leis for everyone, but I guess he forgot

I got a little worried when Saddam and George showed up, uninvited, but no one seemed to mind, at first…

Man, that Fidel can drink!

Since I didn’t have my own flag, Bush let me hold his. We shared some US pride.

This might surprise some of you, but George can be really charming.

But then George got a little belligerent and started waving his flag in Chavez’s face saying how he better be careful and watch his pinko panties. At least I think that’s what he said, he was slurring a bit.

Well Hugo was just not having any of it and totally jumped George. Evo cheering him on did not help the situation at all.

Then Chavez took Bush’s flag and called him a big nosed cracker imperialist and said something I won’t repeat about Dick Cheney and his mum. I wish Kofi hadn’t been puking his guts out over the balcony – maybe he could have mediated and cooled things down a bit.

Chavez totally lost it and threatened to burn Bush’s flag. That’s when I had had enough. I snatched the flag from Chavez and we all had a little chat about how blind nationalism obscures the revolutionary path and how flags shouldn’t be so important to everyone. So we all put our flags down and I turned up the Ivy Queen again. George passed out, so Saddam took him home.

Around 5 am I was the only one still partying. I snapped a last photo of my trashed friends. All in all, it was a pretty great party.
