Empire Builder

I think its mildly amusing that the train I took from Seattle to Chicago is called the Empire Builder. I certainly am not out to build an empire, at least not on this trip.
The 55 hours I spent on 3 trains to go from Olympia, WA to Carbondale, IL felt long and back-achey. Though there were a smattering of nutjobs and Michael, the porter, was just a little too chipper, the trip was all in all enjoyable. I buried myself in Harry Potter #5 (I'm defiantly un-embarrassed about reading HP) and caught up on sleep after a week of partying.
I think that trains will be a theme for this trip. If anyone has any good train suggestions in Bolivia, you let me know.

howdy, em, long time, now chat. wow, bolivia--that's pretty rockin' (and random).
you asked for train resources. well, being the adventurer you are, you probably are already familiar w/ this site (http://www.seat61.com/SouthAmerica.htm), but i've found it incredibly helpful in my travels thus far.
as for me, i'm hanging around my friends' apartment in hong kong at the moment w/ their pug named sputnik. the friends are a romanian/british couple, close friends of a canadian woman i had a fling w/ in northern india. we're getting ready to head out in a little while for "goodbye drinks" w/ an australian womyn i've actually never said hello to. strange world.
anyway, in those quiet, slow moments when you daydream of being somewhere other than bolivia (yeah, right!), you can check in on my asian adventures if you'd like (http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog/jasonfults/asia_2006/tpod.html).
enjoy yourself and be careful w/ those alpacas! much luv from the other side of the planet,
